a little something i've been working on

i'm almost always making/doing/baking something. its not because i'm bored or dont have better things to do. ha!  like this blog, it keeps me sane, happy and healthy.

here is something i've been working on lately:

they started out as garland but because they were a little more time consuming than i planned they turned into hair clips. i got the idea/diy from rachel over at smile and wave. she always has such fresh fun ideas for vintage stock. you can find her diy here.

ps aren't bows fun? i dont know why they are all of a sudden so cute. but i love them!!

these girls are growing up quick! the sun was out and we had great light in the bedroom so i took a few quick pictures of them together. they are so cute right? luckily zula loves having her picture taken. my favorite is the picture of effi falling over and zula's face of, "whats wrong? cant you keep your head up?"

our snow day

we are very much enjoying the snow over here. zula no longer freaks out if she walks in it, or if it gets on her favorite boots. here is our snow day in pictures.

re-diy

hello there!
here is a simple 3 step redo-it-yourself.
gather. trace. cut.

we found our coffee mugs at starbucks. we love the little 8 ouncers! they are too cute. these are the ones that have a paper insert that you can pull out and draw on. pretty cool but we had the genius idea to put whatever we wanted in there. the husby traced and cut a cool picture out of an old book. i added some clear adhesive vinyl to one side of a vintage handkerchief so i could slip it into the cup easily. we're pretty happy with them.

what are some fun things you have been doing?

resolutioning

i have been procrastinating. i cant seem to finalize new years resolutions this year. i enjoyed them so much last year but this year....... i'm feeling unmotivated, uncreative and stuck.
i have decided to just focus on a couple small meaningful things this year.

#1  let house chores go and have fun with my kids.
this year i'm going to let the dishes sit in the sink so i can read to zula or play with effi. its easy to let house chores or my to-do list rule my day. i want to be better at putting my kids first.

#2  be better at trivia games.
the husby and i are a disgrace when it comes to trivia games. even as a team we hang our heads at how much useless knowledge we don't know. see we dont even HAVE trivia games.

#3  get up before the kids, sit in this chair and do nothing.

#4  save time and energy for my husby.
